Installing the Transparency
Trim the transparency if needed
Trim the transparency down to 6 5/8" wide and 5 7/8" high. A rotary cutter and metal ruler on a cutting mat makes this very easy. I used a Fiskars 45 mm cutter, American Crafts ruler model 85661, and Fiskars 12 in square mat.
Insert the transparency
Lay the lantern on it's back. Open the front of the lantern and support it with a book or box that is 3 3/4" to 4" thick to support the front window. Remove the two screws from the top and bottom brackets that hold in the front glass. Lay the transparency onto the front glass under the brackets. Reinstall the bracket screws. If the transparency does not want to stay in place, you can use a little scotch tape on the edges to help hold it in place.
